Last night – 27/04/23, the TotalEnergies E&P UK HSE Award Ceremony was held at Union Kirk in Aberdeen.

Presented by Nicolas Payer, appointed in January 2023 as Managing Director for TotalEnergies UK E&P business; this Award recognises an outstanding contribution to safety, and the achievements of an entire team.  Their efforts resonating with TotalEnergies values, and those of Mr. Payer himself, including, their ongoing work to maintain the biodiversity on site, maintaining balance and supporting life.

Awarded to an individual or team considered to have made an outstanding improvement to safety or to have contributed to reducing major accident hazards, using the Total HSE systems (safety observation, stop card, Total Safety practices) or any initiative they’ve initiated or implemented.

The team launched the initiative Different Voices. During the OIM welcome brief, core crew members draw from their own safety experiences, both at home and at work to encourage discussions and increase awareness. This is a simple, effective and engaging initiative showing the core crew’s commitment to safety and contributing to an embedded safety culture.

Awarded to the safety representative who goes beyond the functions and values required of a site safety representative.

Ben Wright – PBS, Ailsa

Ben’s keen interest in safety, health and wellbeing Ben has led him to recently take on the role of safety rep. His positive safety mindset is a great example for everyone. Despite being recent to the role, he has a strong voice onboard and when participating in Elected Safety Rep forum and has implemented various ideas and cross assets learnings. He’s a strong contributor to safety on Ailsa

 

*Best Environment Improvement Award*

Awarded to an individual or team that has developed or introduced initiatives to reduce our environmental impact of our sites or offices.

AND THE WINNER IS…

Dean Cargill – PBS, Alwyn

Nominated by Lee Newbegin
Dean noticed an open ended ¼” stainless pipe and decided to investigate. He traced the pipework and found that it was connected to the main methanol injection header. Action was taken to resolve the issue and make it safe.

Dean’s initiative and action prevented the spill of hazardous material which could have led to a major accident. An example of someone who is vigilant and takes action if something isn’t right.
